Announcement    Emburr provides functional art made from stoneware clay. Beautiful pottery pieces are available for every gender with botanic elements ranging from dishes, home accessories, and small sculptures. Agate ware is where I have combined different natural coloured clays in a swirl design leaving a pattern like sedimentary rock or wasp nest paper. In this shop, you will also find mugs with themes of different seasons. For example, mushroom themes for fall, storm cloud mugs for the west coast rain season, flowers and bugs for the spring season, ocean themes for all the seasons, and I am working on new designs to add to this collection.
This shop is fully committed to reusing and recycling. Every scrap of clay is saved to be dyed with iron oxides ( non toxic) for use in my agate ware collection. The packaging is reused from many sources and all of it is clean and undamaged before it is reused to pack precious pottery for shipping. Emburr is also very aware of water use, and the water is conserved as much as possible in the clay studio. The flowers and trees around this studio are often watered with the slightly murky clay water so it gets one more use.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

I enjoy making personalized orders and made to order work but, it does take time. With custom orders I also make two pieces and send the best of the two works.
****Pottery is an ancient process with many steps ****
Pieces are formed at a wet stage, dried for several days, fired in the bisque kiln for 10 hours, coated with glazes and hand decorated, and then fired a second time in a glaze kiln. The pieces are fired in a kiln that is full with many other pottery pieces. This ensures an even temperature is achieved inside the kiln. I quote 4-6 weeks for a custom order.

Care instructions

My stoneware pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.
Please avoid extreme temperature changes and the freezer.
